Assessment of student’s assignments is time-consuming and demanding. If we leave it to students they learn to take responsibility.
The technology can enable teacher to do things on more innovative way. It is possible to get rid of time-consuming process of assessment of student’s work. By leaving the process of assessment to the students, they learn to take responsibility, understand which areas on subject covered are more important and notice the importance of transparent evaluation process.
Peer-assessment can be supported by Moodle system, choosing Workshop activity. Moodle is open source system, all student’s data remain within your institution’s cloud.
Using this approach leaves the teachers more time to support students at their learning.
The main challenge when involving this practice is the proper introduction of it to the students. We advice the assessment criteria to be build together with the students.
