Noorderpoort gives all the theory lessons to the students online. The teacher uses Microsoft Teams to give the lessons. In the schedule of the student there is a link to the online classroom of the teacher. The teacher can share his screen with the students to give an online presentation and applies interactive lesson components with applications such as Nearpod, Socrative and Microsoft Forms. The teacher can also show videos using Microsoft Stream. Students can ask questions via the chat function of Teams or by raising their hand.
Long before the Corona crisis Noorderpoort decided to offer part of the lessons online. First to other target groups who cannot come to school so easily, but now to all students.
We use many parts of Microsoft Office 365 and for the lessons we use Teams. Noorderpoort has a strong connection with Microsoft and therefore it is logical that we use their technology.
Most of the lessons we give online. This is because of Corona, but also because of our conviction that online education is a natural part of our technological society.
Be aware that for online education you not only need technology, but you also need to train all teachers to apply it and discuss the rules of conduct with students during online classes.
